Welcome!

Thank you for joining us on this journey to one of the most remote, beautiful, and truly wild places left on our planet: Antarctica. This Travel Blog will follow the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Continuing Education trip from Ushuaia, Argentina, across the Drakes Passage, to the Antarctic Peninsula and return. Learn more about the UNLV trip.

A visit to mysterious and vast Antarctica is a visit to the very ends of the earth. This land of glittering ice, majestic peaks and dazzling beauty, has for millions of years been a haven for migratory birds, whales, seals,  and other marine mammals who come each summer to feast in its food-rich coastal waters. We will be among the privileged few to see the majesty and diversity of a place so foreign and so hauntingly beautiful that it is destined to remain in our memories forever. I can’t wait.
