Thank you for joining us on this journey to one of
the most remote, beautiful, and truly wild places left on our planet:
Antarctica. This Travel Blog will follow the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Continuing Education trip from Ushuaia, Argentina, across the Drakes Passage, to
the Antarctic Peninsula and return. Learn more about the UNLV trip.
A visit to mysterious and vast Antarctica is a visit to the
very ends of the earth. This land of glittering ice, majestic peaks and
dazzling beauty, has for millions of years been a haven for migratory birds, whales,
seals, and other marine mammals who come each summer to feast in its food-rich
coastal waters. We will be among the privileged few to see the majesty and
diversity of a place so foreign and so hauntingly beautiful that it is destined
to remain in our memories forever. I can’t wait.

Hi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to new photos from Antarctica, and perhaps we can update last year's marketing video.
Regards,
James Cho
After watching Discovery Channel's Frozen Planet (http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/frozen-planet/, I've been intrigued by both poles. I can't wait to follow your journey and look forward to both the blog posts and broadcasts on KNPR. Bon voyage to everyone lucky enough to be making this once in a lifetime journey!
ReplyDeleteMy brother and sister-in-law departed on the December 6 cruise; I am eager to follow them as they experience Antarctica. I visited Antarctica last December 2011--the continent is like nothing else you will ever see on the planet Earth.
